Getting rid of lice can be easy.
Our Lousy Service
    17th century nitpicking appointment

This is not what your appointment will look like.  We bring to you all of our own equipment, professionalism, discretion and respect for your privacy.

What Are Nitpickers?

We nitpickers professionally remove lice and nits meticulously. We also advise you in the proper way to treat your home and surroundings to prevent reinfestation. This insures you that you will not have to see us again (unless we bump into each other at the coffee house).

By the time the treatment is completed, you will know exactly how to handle any lice problem you encounter in the future.

And most importantly we will put your 'stressed out' mind at ease.

Reasons We Are Used

An average family spends approximately 3 to 6 months trying to rid their child of head lice. WHY? Following is the typical process...

  • Child itches, school nurse or parent finds lice and/ or nits
  • The "host" (the child) is then sent home until there are "no more nits" Typically, RID will be the  product purchased for the first treatment, which needs to be repeated in 7 days.
  • Parent searches head for nits, finds one or two and child returns to school
  • Two weeks later, the child still has lice.
  • Parents are asking "host's" friend's parents if their child has lice...NO ONE admits it
  • Next, since RID failed, NIX is purchased and again, has to be repeated in 7 days. Two weeks later, NIX did not kill the lice and certainly not the nits
  • Now family is in upheaval, vaccuuming, doing laundry night and day. Throwing away toys, hairbrushes etc.
  • At this point, Internet searches for finding lice and nit killing products that  guarantee the lice are eliminated.  Again, more products purchased, more combing and cleaning, but without success.
  • Now, everything  has been tried. The anguish and frustration is overwhelming
  • The family’s physician is called and a prescription for Ovide, also known as Malathion (a chemical/ pesticide), is used to treat young children, and even infants. (Yikes!!)
  • Two weeks go by and lice are back.  Chances are that side effects of Malathion are making kids more miserable than ever.
  • More personal items are disposed of such as brushes, hair accessories, sheets and pillows and spend countless hours cleaning and laundering everything (most of which is unnecessary).
  • Parent seaches head again, finding only a couple of nits and "host" returns to school. Finding "only a couple of nits" only means there are more!

Usually in the first combing of "host's" hair, we find 20 - 40 nits!!

Don't wait so long, make your appointment as soon as you find them!

Lice‘n Easy ’s service is done “in home” for all family members infested, by private appointment. All tools required to do the job are brought into a person’s home along with after care education. For an infested person, the person is “picked on” for about an hour and a half or more. No toxic chemicals are ever used. This provides the best and safest treatment for anyone with lice.

What to expect at and during your appointment with Lice’n Easy...

  • Appointments are scheduled at your home...a parent is also in attendance so they will get all the education on this "lousy" subject
  • All persons infected with lice need to be present with freshly
washed hair and a front buttoned shirt.
  • Each family member will need to change into a fresh set of clothing after being “picked on”.
  • Each head will be individually and meticullously picked and combed.
  • You will be able to ask questions and have answers.
  • First family member will be $90 which will include a comb for continued treatments at home and last about 1+ hour.
  • Each hour thereafter will be $80. Expect to be “picked on” about 1-2 hours per person.

From Wikipedia.com

Nitpicking is the act of removing nits (the eggs of lice, generally head lice) from the host's hair. As the nits are cemented to individual hairs, they cannot be removed with most lice combs and, before modern chemical methods were invented, the only options were to shave all the host's hair or to pick them free one by one.

This is a slow and laborious process, as the root of each individual hair must be examined for infestation. It was largely abandoned as modern chemical methods became available; however, as lice populations can and do develop resistance, manual nitpicking is still often necessary.

As nitpicking inherently requires fastidious, meticulous attention to detail, the term has become appropriated to describe the practice of meticulously searching for minor, even trivial errors in detail (often referred to as "nits" as well), and then criticizing them.
